UUIDs are commonly used for database keys, request identifiers, and distributed objects. This tool uses browser cryptographic randomness to generate UUID v4 values and can inspect a UUID’s format and version.

Examples and limits

Generated values look like 550e8400-e29b-41d4-a716-446655440000, with version 4 in the version position. Generate 1-100 values per run; the browser must provide a cryptographic random source. Values are generated locally, while the server should enforce final uniqueness.

How to use

Choose a batch count to generate UUIDs, or enter a value to validate. Generation and validation stay local to the browser and are not uploaded.

Random UUIDs make collisions extremely unlikely, but application uniqueness should still be enforced by a database constraint or server-side rule.
